About Pricing My philosophy has always started with the craft, acknowledging the fact that folks don't mind paying a fair price for a quality piece. Given the state of our economy and financial pressure we all seem to be under, I think that is even more true than ever. I have seen many glossy catalogs from “name' makers, some of superlative craft, others less so. What they all seem to have in common is the high price. That fancy catalog and major marketing effort comes at a price. Hopefully this is where a small craftsmen like myself have an edge and can eek out a modest living. My overhead consists of a few dollars a month in advertising and electricity for the shop, and that savings can be passed on to the consumer. I have reproduced a number of designs in one of these catalogs for a fraction of their retail.
By point of reference , a small dovetailed pencil box retails for $30. A 4' porch swing for $65. with the small table for $35. For most projects, a customer will contact me with a basic idea, I will create a sketch if possible or visit the work site, generate a quote and take it from there. Feel free to contact me for any projects large or small. Delivery and installation service is of course available. Small projects may be shipped. | ||
